Generative Art presented by Tezos, is spotlighting the modern resurrection of generative art at this year’s Art Basel in the Swiss city of Basel. Art is constantly evolving, just like technology. Blockchains like Tezos are assisting generative artists in reimagining the digital canvas.

The exhibition examines how technology and art have evolved through time, and it shows how creators around the world are redefining what generative art might be in this new medium. Visitors are invited to enter this realm and learn firsthand about the function of NFTs in the art community and beyond by visiting the Tezos show.

As part of the interactive experience, visitors get to co-create a new generative artwork that is instantaneously minted as an NFT and delivered to participants in real-time. Herbert W Franke, a visionary early generative art pioneer and science fiction writer, is the curator of the exhibition, which features his 1979 MONDRIAN program, courtesy of Herbert W Franke and Susanne Päch.

MONDRIAN, a visionary early generative art pioneer and science fiction writer, used the TI-99/4, the first 16-bit home computer, to create his 1979 MONDRIAN program, courtesy of Herbert W Franke and Susanne Päch. MONDRIAN, a dynamic generative software, was created on the TI-99/4, the first 16-bit home computer. On display is a 21:21 minute sequence of the dynamic generative program, which was taken at a solo performance at ZKM in 2010 and is currently available as an NFT on Tezos.

The Tezos NFT Speaker Series also raises awareness of NFT’s critical role in the art world and beyond. Tezos, a low-energy blockchain, has grown to prominence as the platform of choice for artists looking to mint NFTs in an environmentally acceptable and sustainable manner. Tezos’ piece Chance Encounters in New Mediums is situated in the center of the gallery, surrounded by four generative artists’ work. Aleksandra Jovani, Eko33, Ryan Bell, and Sam Tsao will demonstrate generative algorithms that will allow attendees to co-create a new generative artwork that will be instantly minted as an NFT and given to attendees in real-time.

The exhibition examines how art and technology are merging, as well as how artists all around the world are redefining what generative art is in this new medium. Visitors to the Tezos art exhibition are encouraged to immerse themselves in the atmosphere and learn firsthand about the significance of NFTs in the arts and beyond.

The presentation revolves around the generative art platform fx(hash). It’s a one-of-a-kind tool in the realm of NFT art that uses blockchain technology to allow collectors to interact with generative art in a whole new way. Visitors can scan a QR code to begin the process of creating a new artwork made autonomously by one of the artist’s algorithms, thanks to the interactive part of the show, which is powered by fx(hash).

MONDRIAN (1979/2010/2022) is a Texas Instruments dynamic visual and sound software designed by Herbert W Franke in 1979. It was named after Piet Mondrian, a Dutch artist who was a key figure in the early twentieth-century constructivism movement. Mondrian’s work is characterized by strong horizontal and vertical characteristics, as well as color blocks, and is often painted in rich, dazzling tones. The sequence has been dubbed an NFT on Tezos.

Due to its energy-efficient architecture and low costs for minting and transacting NFTs, Tezos has attracted a large global community of artists, collectors, and builders.

Thanks to renowned NFT platforms like fx(hash), Objtk.com, and Teia.art, more artists are opting to develop on Tezos than ever before. Sales on the Tezos art marketplaces have surged by 70% in the last 30 days, with Objkt.com, the largest in the Tezos ecosystem, just reaching $100 million in sales.

From June 16 to 19, 2022, the exhibition took place at Art Basel in Basel, with a focus on a live creative atmosphere. In this process, the element of chance is valued and enshrined on the blockchain.
